Helicity Dependence of Jet Properties from Di-hadrons in Longitudinally Polarized p+p Collisions at {radical}(s) = 200 GeV

We examine the double-longitudinal difference of the RMS partonic transverse momentum {radical}(<k{sub T}{sup 2}>) derived from di-hadron azimuthal correlations in p-vector+p-vector collisions at {radical}(s) 200 GeV in PHENIX data from the 2005 and 2006 RHIC runs. The motivation is to explore the possible contribution of proton-spin-correlated partonic transverse momentum (orbital angular momentum) to the measured inclusive partonic {radical}(<k{sub T}{sup 2}>) as described in [1]. We follow the analysis procedure described in [2] that relates the width of the away-side peak in the azimuthal two-particle distributions to the transverse momentum of the di-jet. The difference, {delta}{radical}(<k{sub T}{sup 2}>) between like- and unlike-helicity collisions is then extracted. When averaged over the triggered particle transverse momentum, <{delta}{radical}(<k{sub T}{sup 2}>)>{sub pTt} -8{+-}90 MeV/c.
