Measurements of the double-spin asymmetry A{sub LL} for inclusive {pi}{sup 0} production in hard pp collisions can provide important constraints on gluonic spin contributions to the proton. The STAR Endcap Electromagnetic Calorimeter is well-suited for these studies, with full azimuthal coverage for pseudorapidities 1.086<{eta}<2, good depth segmentation, and excellent transverse granularity. Details of the {pi}{sup 0} reconstruction algorithms we employed are described. Preliminary results from the 2006 data set for A{sub LL} for {pi}{sup 0,}s at forward rapidities are presented and compared to several NLO pQCD calculations that assume different values for the integral {delta}G.
