Measurement of B{sup 0}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} decays and search for B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}{rho}{sup 0}

We report on a search for the decay B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}{rho}{sup 0} and other charmless modes with a {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} final state, including B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, nonresonant B{sup 0}{yields}4{pi}{sup {+-}}, B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}f{sub 0}(980), B{sup 0}{yields}f{sub 0}(980)f{sub 0}(980) and B{sup 0}{yields}f{sub 0}(980){pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}. These results are obtained from a data sample containing 657x10{sup 6} BB pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. We set an upper limit on B(B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}{rho}{sup 0}) of 1.0x10{sup -6} at the 90% confidence level (C.L.). From our B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}{rho}{sup 0} measurement and an isospin analysis, we determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa phase {phi}{sub 2} to be 91.7{+-}14.9 degrees. We find excesses in B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} and nonresonant B{sup 0}{yields}4{pi}{sup {+-}} with 1.3{sigma} and 2.5{sigma} significance, respectively. The corresponding branching fractions are less than 12.0x10{sup -6} and 19.3x10{sup -6} at the 90% C.L. In addition, we set 90% C.L. upper limits as follows: B(B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}{sup 0}f{sub 0}(980))<0.3x10{sup -6}, B(B{sup 0}{yields}f{sub 0}(980)f{sub 0}(980))<0.1x10{sup -6}, and B(B{sup 0}{yields}f{sub 0}(980){pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -})<3.8x10{sup -6}.
