Gamow-Teller decay of even isotopes {sup 68}Ni to {sup 78}Ni

Theoretical single-particle levels, obtained in the Hartree-Fock approach with four different Skyrme forces, and a schematic Gamow-Teller particle-hole interaction, have been used in the Tamm-Dancoff approximation to calculate the {beta} strength distributions and half-lives for even isotopes {sup 68}Ni to {sup 78}Ni. For A{<=}74, the best agreement with experimental T{sub 1/2} data is found for the SkP force.
