Profiles of high principal quantum number Balmer and Paschen lines from Alcator C-mod tokamak plasmas

The standard approach for the description of plasma line broadening has been modified to treat the ion-modified effects in high temperature tokamaks. The Balmer and Paschen series can be used to infer electron density in hot plasmas. (AIP)
