Title: Inclusive decays {chi}{sub b0,2} {sup {yields}} {psi}DD-bar + X and duality relation

Abstract

The three-body decays {chi}{sub b0,2} {sup {yields}} J/{psi}cc-bar and the decays x{sub bJ} {sup {yields}} J/{psi}DD-bar related to them are studied. The differential widths with respect to these decays are calculated analytically, and their total widths are evaluated numerically. The duality relation between these decays and the two-body decays x{sub b0,2} {sup {yields}} J/{psi}(cc-bar) is verified. The possibility of observing these decays at the LHC and Tevatron colliders is discussed.

  • In this article we consider the three-particle decays {chi}{sub b0,2}{yields}J/{psi}cc{yields}J/{psi}DD+X. We present the analytical formulas for the differential widths of these decays, the numerical values of their integrated widths, and check the duality relation that connects the decays {chi}{sub b0,2}{yields}{psi}cc with the two-particle decays {chi}{sub b0,2}{yields}J/{psi}(cc). We also study the possibility of observing the {chi}{sub b0,2}{yields}J/{psi}DD+X mode at Tevatron and LHC colliders.
  • In two recent reactions by Belle producing DD-bar and DD-bar* meson pairs, peaks above threshold have been measured in the differential cross sections, possibly indicating new resonances in these channels. We want to study such reactions from the point of view that the D meson pairs are produced from already known or predicted resonances below threshold. Our study shows that the peak in the DD-bar* production is not likely to be caused by the X(3872) resonance, but the peak seen in DD-bar invariant mass can be well described if the DD-bar pair comes from the already predicted scalar X(3700) resonance.
  • We show that in the transitions {psi}{sup '}{yields}h{sub c}{pi}{sup 0} and {eta}{sub c}{sup '}{yields}{chi}{sub c0}{pi}{sup 0} the contributions from charmed-meson loops are highly suppressed, in contrast to various other charmonium decays. We calculate the width of the {psi}{sup '}{yields}h{sub c}{pi}{sup 0}, which agrees with the recent BES-III data, and predict the width of the {eta}{sub c}{sup '}{yields}{chi}{sub c0}{pi}{sup 0}, {Gamma}({eta}{sub c}{sup '}{yields}{chi}{sub c0}{pi}{sup 0})=1.5{+-}0.4 keV. A confirmation of this prediction would also provide additional support for a recent analysis of {psi}{sup '}{yields}J/{psi}{pi}{sup 0}({eta}), where loops are claimed to play a prominent role.
  • We measure the ratio of cross section times branching fraction, R{sub p}={sigma}{sub {chi}{sub c}{sub 2}}B({chi}{sub c2}{yields}J/{psi}{gamma})/{sigma}{sub {chi}{sub c}{sub 1}}B({chi}{sub c1}{yields}J/{psi}{gamma}), in 1.1 fb{sup -1} of pp collisions at {radical}(s)=1.96 TeV. This measurement covers the kinematic range p{sub T}(J/{psi})>4.0 GeV/c, vertical bar {eta}(J/{psi})<1.0, and p{sub T}({gamma})>1.0 GeV/c. For events due to prompt processes, we find R{sub p}=0.395{+-}0.016(stat){+-}0.015(syst). This result represents a significant improvement in precision over previous measurements of prompt {chi}{sub c1,2} hadro production.
  • By analyzing the data collected at the center-of-mass energy E{sub cm}=3.773 GeV and below the DD meson pair production threshold with the BES-II detector at the BEPC Collider, we directly measured the observed non-DD cross section of {psi}(3770) decay to be {sigma}{sub {psi}}{sub (3770){yields}}{sub non-DD}{sup obs}=(0.95{+-}0.35{+-}0.29) nb at E{sub cm}=3.773 GeV, and the branching fraction BF[{psi}(3770){yields}non-DD]=(13.4{+-}5.0{+-}3.6)% for inclusive non-DD decay of {psi}(3770). We also determined the cross section for DD meson pair production to be {sigma}{sub DD}{sup obs}=(6.12{+-}0.37{+-}0.23) nb at E{sub cm}=3.773 GeV.
