A high-intensitty proton beam facility called J-PARC (Japan Proton Acclerator Research Complex) is being constructed in Tokai area, Japan. The project is promoted under the cooperation of two institutions, KEK and JAEA. The goal of the project is to provide a MW-class beams for material and life science, and particle and nuclear physics. The physics scope and the construction status is described. In addition, spin physics possibilities are also mentioned.
