The evaluation of defect parameters like deformation faults (intrinsic {alpha}{prime}, extrinsic {alpha}{double_prime}, and deformation twin {beta})by X-ray line profile analysis is an established technique and has been widely used. In the present work, which is a continuation of the program of study of lattice imperfections in deformed aluminum-base alloys, the analysis concerning the recent developments has been done on the composite matrix of Al-Mg-Zn and SiC systems. This is aimed at finding out the defect characteristics of the alloy composite system, which is essential to assess the mechanical properties, including work hardenability, and also to evaluate the effect of SiC in the alloy matrix. Though much work using the present method has been done on binary alloys, no sufficient systematic work so far has been reported in the composite alloy systems.
