Employing the general bilateral controlled-NOT operation and local state discrimination, the mixed state of the form {rho}{sub d}{sup (k)}=(1/d{sup 2}){sigma}{sub m,n=0}{sup d-1}(vertical bar {phi}{sub mn}><{phi}{sub mn} vertical bar){sup xk} is proved to be quasipure, where {l_brace} vertical bar {phi}{sub mn}>{r_brace} is the canonical set of mutually orthogonal maximally entangled states in dxd. Therefore irreversibility does not occur in the process of distillation for this family of states. Also, the distillable entanglement is calculated explicitly.
