Mixed-symmetry states in 96Mo have been identified using the (n,n'{gamma}) reaction. From the lifetime measured using the Doppler-shift attenuation method and multipole mixing ratios, B(E2) and B(M1) values were determined. The 2{sub ms}{sup +} state was found at 2095.77 keV with B(M1: 2{sub ms}{sup +} {yields} 2{sub 1}{sup +}) = 0.18{mu}{sub N}{sup 2}, while the 1{sub ms}{sup +} strength lies primarily in states at 2794.45 and 3300.23 keV.
