CO{sub 2} reforming and steam reforming of methane at elevated pressures: A computational thermodynamic study

Conference ·
OSTI ID:20082343
The present work is a computational thermodynamic study on the reactant conversion, product composition and carbon formation in the following reaction systems: (1) CO{sub 2} reforming of methane, (2) steam reforming of methane, (3) simultaneous CO{sub 2}-steam reforming of methane, (4) oxy-CO{sub 2} reforming or oxy-steam reforming. Effects of pressure and reactant composition (such as CO{sub 2}/CH{sub 4} ratio, H{sub 2}O/CO{sub 2} ratio, O{sub 2}/CH{sub 4} ratio) on carbon formation, methane and CO{sub 2} conversion, and H{sub 2}/CO ratio were evaluated by thermodynamic calculations of specific reactions and global reactions.
