Multipathway risk assessment using the EPA region 6 protocol
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and many state environmental agencies require facility-specific multipathway risk assessments for hazardous waste burning sources applying for and renewing permits under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Analyses are performed following the Human Health Risk Assessment Protocol for Hazardous Waste Combustion Facilities as proposed by Region 6 in July 1998 and the Protocol for Screening Level Human Health Risk Assessment at Hazardous Waste Combustion Facilities as drafted by Region 6 in February 1997. Multipathway analyses depend on dispersion modeling for a number of concentration and deposition related values as presented herein.
