Backangle anomaly in the {sup 28}Si({alpha},{alpha}){sup 28} Si and {sup 32}S({alpha},{alpha}){sup 32}S elastic scattering

Data on the experiments for the investigations on anomalous large angle scattering of alpha particles on {sup 28}Si and {sup 32}S around the barrier energies at the tandetron accelerator laboratory of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran 31261, Saudi Arabia, is described. Excitation functions and angular distribution measurements have been carried out for the {sup 28}Si({alpha},{alpha}){sup 28}Si elastic scattering in the laboratory energies 3.0-7.7 MeV at all angles in 5{degrees} steps in the 30{degrees}- 175{degrees} angular range. Similar excitation function measurements were carried out for the {sup 32}S({alpha},{alpha}){sup 32}S scattering in the 3.0-8.9 MeV range. Potential resonances have been identified for a possible quasi-molecular description, as well as the backangle anomaly observed in both systems.
