Features of application of zeolite-containing catalysis in hydrotreating petroleum fractions
- and others
In recent years, zeolite-containing catalysts identified as ANM and ACM (alumina-nickel-molybdenum and -cobalt-molybdenum, respectively) have come into extensive use in hydrotreating petroleum fractions to improve their quality. Beneficial effects obtained with these catalysts include the following: thorough removal of sulfur from diesel fuel fractions, vacuum distillate, and a 200-320{degrees}C cut used as the feedstock for the Parex process; higher octane numbers of the naphtha fractions; and increased yields of light products in hydrocracking. The basic physicochemical properties of zeolite-containing catalysts manufactured in this country are listed. The contents of hydrogenating metals in these catalysts have been reduced, and the level of strength properties is quite high; these effects are due to treatment of the aluminum hydroxide by means of modifiers during the process of molding the catalyst mass. The activities of these catalysts were evaluated in hydrotreating a 180-357{degrees}C diesel fuel fraction (sulfur content 0.78%) at a pressure p = 3.5 MPa and a feedstock space velocity v{sub f} = 4 h{sup -1}, and in hydrotreating a 330-495{degrees}C vacuum distillate (sulfur content 1.45%) with p = 5 MPa and v{sub f} = 1 h{sup -1}.
