TSDC: Transportation Secure Data Center and Livewire Data Platform

Program Document ·
OSTI ID:1907804

NREL's Transportation Secure Data Center features data from more than 200 travel surveys and studies conducted across the nation. It covers millions of miles of travel data from personal vehicles, buses, trains, vanpools, bikes, and other modes. After the initial data is screened for quality control, NREL processing routines join data points to the road network, link U.S. census and other spatial data layers, and add vehicle fuel economy and road-grade information. The Livewire Data Platform empowers research, industry, and academic partners to easily and securely preserve, maintain, share, discover, and gain access to transportation and mobility data. The flexible platform offers a host of features for data owners who would like to securely share data, such as data preservation, documentation, standard citations, usage and engagement metrics, and access permissions. Livewire accommodates a range of data sets, including behavioral, experimental, model, analytical, and raw data at the vehicle, traveler, and system levels. Data sets support energy-efficient mobility research and planning spanning urban science, connected and automated vehicles, fueling and charging infrastructure, mobility decision science, multimodal transportation, vehicle efficiency, and more.
