SOWFA Large-Eddy Simulation of a Diurnal Cycle at the SWiFT Site
- National Renewable Energy Laboratory; Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
These are large-eddy simulation (LES) data output from the Simulator for Wind Farm Applications (SOWFA) with internal mesoscale-to-microscale coupling. A diurnal cycle was simulated over the Scaled Wind Farm Technology (SWIFT) facility near Lubbock, Texas, from 2013-11-08 12:00:00 UTC to 2013-11-09 12:00:00 UTC. Indirect profile assimilation was used to enforce nonstationary mesoscale conditions. Mesoscale forcing data were extracted from WRF numerical weather prediction outputs or derived from observations at SWiFT.
