A Measurement of the D0 and D+ lifetimes

We present precision measurements of the D 0 and D + meson lifetimes using approximately 7500 fully reconstructed D 0 →K - π + , K - π + π + π - , D + →K - π + π + , and charge conjugate decays. The data were accumulated by the Fermilab high ene rgy photoproduction experiment E687. The lifetime of the D 0 is measured to be 0.424±0.011±0.007 ps while the D + lifetime is measured to be 1.075±0.040±0.018 ps.
