Measurement of dijet production with a veto on additional central jet activity in collisions at TeV using the ATLAS detector
- OSTI
CERN-LHC. Measurement of dijet production with a jet veto on additional central jet activity in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The measurement was performed using 2010 data recorded by the ATLAS detector. The boundary jets system is defined using two different selection criteria: the two leading pT jets selection, where the two highest transverse momentum jets (of transverse momentum pT > 20 GeV and absolute rapidity |y| < 4.4) in the events are used and the forward-backward selection, where the most forward and most backward jets in the events (same selection cuts) are used. The Gap Fraction is defined as the fraction of dijet events which have no other jets with transverse momentum above a veto scale Q0 (20 GeV) in the rapidity interval between the boundary jets. Also measured is the mean multiplicity of jets above this veto scale in the rapidity interval bounded by the dijet system.
