An attempt was made to produce in-situ reinforced Ti-based particulates composites (MMC`s) using blended elemental powder metallurgy route. Processing conditions such as processing steps, how to make master alloy powder, how to disperse the reinforcing particulates uniformly in the matrix and the effect of Ti powder size on the sintered density were investigated in detail. High temperature tensile, creep nd room temperature high cycle fatigue properties were evaluated with special emphasis on the Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo/5{approximately}20TiB MMC`s, and these were compared with those for unreinforced matrix alloys.
