Approximate equations obtained using a refined theory for calculation of natural frequencies of vibration for longitudinally reinforced cylindrical shells
- S.P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics, Kiev (Ukraine)
The approximate equations and computational formulas presented below are derived taking into account the discrete placement of ribs on the basis of the refined theory of ribbed shells using the S.P. Timoshenko model. They are no more complicated that the complicated that the corresponding equations and formulas obtained on the basis of the theory of structurally orthotropic shells. Analogous equations and formulas were obtained previously using the classical theory, and are presented in particular for the problem of determining the characteristics of the stress-strain state under static loading and for problems of determining the natural frequencies of vibration and the characteristics of the stress-strain state in forced vibrations. Below, the approximate equations and formulas are constructed as a result of analysis and subsequent simplification of the exact solution of the problem of the natural vibrations of longitudinally reinforced shells, obtained for shells hinged along the rim.
