This report describes research and development performed to update and upgrade the Illinois Rocstar Rocstar Multiphysics simulation tool (often called Rocstar ) during a Department of Energy sponsored Phase II SBIR program. Rocstar Multiphysics has a 25 year academic and commercial legacy that has now been modernized for the 21st century. The tool has been an important multiphysics application featuring fluid-structure-interaction capabilities, moving meshes and regressing boundaries, coupled combustion, and much more since its inception. Its multiphysics capabilities have now been updated and expanded, with a focus on advanced and alternative energy applications. There were many capability additions to the code along with operational improvements and user interface enhancements designed to bring the tool to a point where it has the advanced multiphysics simulation capabilities that industry, government, and academia require to perform advanced scientific and engineering simulations. During the project, new advanced solvers were introduced and several older legacy solvers removed from the codebase. File formats were added and improved, support for external mesh tools and visualization packages added, code refactored and defects corrected, and new graphical user interfaces and remote network accessibility designs produced. Most of the new solver capabilities are fully operational and description of a broad array of examples are provided as case studies and test problems. Some of the capabilities are still under development and their release will happen after project completion. The open-source codebase that will be available on GitHub will contain the main command-line based multiphysics simulation tools but the graphical interface and remote access infrastructures are still under development and will be released at a later date. Illinois Rocstar meshing capabilities that can be used with Rocstar Multiphysics have been released separately on GitHub as the PromeshTM product. Rocstar Multiphysics is a core product of Illinois Rocstar and will be improved and updated continuously in the future.
