The results of measurements and analysis of the differential cross sections for neutron emission in the reactions {sup 115}In({alpha}, xn) and {sup 122}Sn({alpha}, xn) at {alpha}-particle energies of 26.8 and 45.2 MeV are presented. Data on equilibrium emission are interpreted in the statistical model based on the Hauser-Feshbach formalism for multicascade processes. As a result, the parameters of the nuclear-level density in the back-shifted Fermi-gas model are determined over a wide range of excitation energies and cross sections for neutron emission at various stages of the evaporation process. 13 refs., 2 figs., 2 tabs.
