Conversion of aniline in the presence of hydrogen in ethanol on rhodium supported on magnesium oxide

Journal Article · · Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry

Platinum group metals are distinguished by high activity and selectivity in hydrogenation of aromatic amines, and hydrogenation can be conducted in relatively soft conditions with them for this reason. Hydrogenation of aniline in ethanol and the effect of the products of the reaction on the process on 5% Rh/MgO catalyst were investigated in the present study. The results obtained were compared with previously published data on conversion of aniline in an atmosphere of hydrogen on 5% Rh/MgO in aqueous medium. 7 refs., 1 fig., 2 tabs.
