1. ANSTO Training PMBI, Menai (Australia)

The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) has many responsibilities in the training area. Not least among these responsibilities is the training of staff at the Lucas Heights Research Laboratories in nuclear science and radiation safety disciplines. ANSTO Training was constituted to fulfil this training need as well as the wider needs of the Australian community who use radioactive materials and devices emitting ionising radiation in industry, medicine, research and education. Some states in Australia now require the user to attend an appropriate training course as a mandatory part of gaining a licence to use radioactive materials or devices which emit ionising radiation. ANSTO Training has developed a range of standard short courses, of 1 to 10 days duration, which cover the needs of the majority of institutional and corporate users of radioactive materials in Australia. The development of suitable successful short courses has been driven by the corporate customers expectations of short down time for staff and reduced training costs. ANSTO Training is and intends to remain, the foremost provider of commercially available training of its kind in Australia with an eye to extending coverage to regional countries. The ANSTO Training Poster and Video display provides an indication of the style of presentation used throughout the range of courses.
