This conference was held September 3--7, 1995 in Berlin, Germany. The purpose of the conference was to provide a multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of state-of-the-art information on radioactive waste management and environmental remediation. Attention is focused on the following: descriptions of national environmental management programs; public involvement, economics, regulations, and other cross-cutting issues; storage, transportation, and conditioning of spent nuclear fuel HLW; treatment and qualification of high-level waste for disposal; disposition of fissile materials; waste form performance and contaminant migration in deep repositories; and characterization and design of disposal facilities for HLW and spent fuel. Individual papers have been processed separately for inclusion in the appropriate data bases.
