A new and unique acousto-ultrasonic NDE method is being developed to examine composite materials at elevated temperatures. This technique involves the used of fiber wave-guides to transmit and receive ultrasonic signals to and from a composite material. In-situ NDE of a composite material is achieved using this method while the material is being heated. Interesting preliminary results are presented in this paper.
