LiPt2Sb crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two LiPt2Sb ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Li1+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Li–Pt bond lengths are 2.66 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Li1+ and one Sb3+ atom. The Pt–Sb bond length is 2.39 Å. Sb3+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms.
