RhCu2Cd crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two RhCu2Cd ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Rh is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Cu atoms. Both Rh–Cu bond lengths are 2.40 Å. Cu is bonded in a linear geometry to one Rh and one Cd atom. The Cu–Cd bond length is 2.51 Å. Cd is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Cu atoms.
