Rh2NiAl crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Rh2NiAl ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Rh is bonded in a linear geometry to one Ni and one Al atom. The Rh–Ni bond length is 2.26 Å. The Rh–Al bond length is 2.31 Å. Ni is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Rh atoms. Al is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Rh atoms.
