Li2ScIn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Li2ScIn ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Li is bonded in a linear geometry to one Sc and one In atom. The Li–Sc bond length is 2.97 Å. The Li–In bond length is 2.87 Å. Sc is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Li atoms. In is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Li atoms.
