YbHoPt2 is Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Pt atoms. All Yb–Pt bond lengths are 2.99 Å. Ho is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Pt atoms. All Ho–Pt bond lengths are 2.99 Å. Pt is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Yb and four equivalent Ho atoms.
