MnOs3 is Uranium Silicide-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mn2+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Os+0.67- atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing MnOs12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (2.62 Å) and six longer (2.71 Å) Mn–Os bond lengths. Os+0.67- is bonded to four equivalent Mn2+ atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing OsMn4 cuboctahedra.
