WCr2Re crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two WCr2Re ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. W is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Cr atoms. Both W–Cr bond lengths are 2.83 Å. Cr is bonded in a linear geometry to one W and one Re atom. The Cr–Re bond length is 2.27 Å. Re is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Cr atoms.
