Li2CaTl crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Li2CaTl ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Li is bonded in a distorted linear geometry to one Ca and one Tl atom. The Li–Ca bond length is 3.46 Å. The Li–Tl bond length is 2.89 Å. Ca is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Li atoms. Tl is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Li atoms.
