The doping effects on the thermoelectric power of the high temperature superconductor Tl{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Ca{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 10{minus}{delta}} was investigated. 1+ valence elements Na, K, and Rb, 2+ elements Zn, Cd, and Hg, multivalence elements Cr and Re, and nonmetal elements Se and Te were employed as dopants. Generally, the doping has a significant impact on the normal state thermoelectric power of this 2223 phase Tl{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Ca{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 10{minus}{delta}} superconducting compound. The maximum values of the thermopower of these doped samples range from 8.6 {mu}V/K to 34.6 {mu}V/K in the temperature range from 100 K to 300 K. At 300 K, the values of the thermopower of these samples range from {minus}0.6 {mu}V/K to 22.3 {mu}V/K. Some doped samples exhibit linear relationship between thermopower and temperature in a wide temperature range. {copyright} {ital 1995} {ital American} {ital Institute} {ital of} {ital Physics}.
