GdPr3 is beta Cu3Ti-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd is bonded to twelve equivalent Pr atoms to form GdPr12 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent GdPr12 cuboctahedra, corners with twelve equivalent PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen equivalent PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent GdPr12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.69 Å) and six longer (3.71 Å) Gd–Pr bond lengths. Pr is bonded to four equivalent Gd and eight equivalent Pr atoms to form PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent GdPr12 cuboctahedra, corners with fourteen equivalent PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent GdPr12 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent GdPr12 cuboctahedra, and faces with sixteen equivalent PrPr8Gd4 cuboctahedra. There are two shorter (3.68 Å) and six longer (3.70 Å) Pr–Pr bond lengths.
