Solid buckminsterfullerene C{sub 60} is known to occur in two crystalline modifications, one with a fcc unit cell and one with a cubic unit cell a temperatures below 260 K. This work suggests the model of the disordered C{sub 60} modifications, designed on the basis of computing the potential barrier to molecule reorientation by the method of atom-atome potentials.
