Mg2DySc is Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Dy and four equivalent Sc atoms. All Mg–Dy bond lengths are 3.20 Å. All Mg–Sc bond lengths are 3.20 Å. Dy is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Mg atoms. Sc is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Mg atoms.
