The rate of the ozone transfer through the gas-solution interface into 4 M HNO{sub 3} containing 1.5 x 10{sup {minus}2} M or no Ce has been evaluated. This rate is almost equal to the transfer rate in oxidative dissolution of PuO{sub 2} under the similar conditions and at (PuO{sub 2}){sub O} above 0.1 mol 1{sup {minus}1} solvent. The rate-determining stages of PuO{sub 2} dissolution under experimental conditions varying in a wide range have been elucidated.
