Materials Data on Yb4Pt3Au by Materials Project
Yb4Pt3Au crystallizes in the monoclinic Pm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are four inequivalent Yb sites. In the first Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to five Pt and two equivalent Au atoms. There are a spread of Yb–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.95–3.02 Å. There are one shorter (3.00 Å) and one longer (3.08 Å) Yb–Au bond lengths. In the second Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to six Pt and one Au atom. There are a spread of Yb–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.96–3.04 Å. The Yb–Au bond length is 3.09 Å. In the third Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to five Pt and two equivalent Au atoms. There are a spread of Yb–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.94–3.13 Å. Both Yb–Au bond lengths are 3.02 Å. In the fourth Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to five Pt and two equivalent Au atoms. There are a spread of Yb–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.93–3.10 Å. Both Yb–Au bond lengths are 3.05 Å. There are three inequivalent Pt sites. In the first Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven Yb atoms. In the second Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to seven Yb and two equivalent Au atoms. Both Pt–Au bond lengths are 2.88 Å. In the third Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven Yb atoms. Au is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to seven Yb and two equivalent Pt atoms.
