Savannah River National Laboratory, and the larger community, has limited chemical-specific imaging capabilities, which would be beneficial for remote detection of threat chemicals or use in inaccessible and harsh environments, as well as in-line process monitoring. The project objective is to develop a novel, rugged, highly sensitive spectrometer to support real-time, chemically specific imaging using hyperspectral Raman spectroscopy.
