LiSr2Cd crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two LiSr2Cd ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Li is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Sr atoms. Both Li–Sr bond lengths are 3.63 Å. Sr is bonded in a linear geometry to one Li and one Cd atom. The Sr–Cd bond length is 3.61 Å. Cd is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Sr atoms.
