LiSr2Hg crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two LiSr2Hg ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Li is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Sr atoms. Both Li–Sr bond lengths are 3.62 Å. Sr is bonded in a distorted linear geometry to one Li and one Hg atom. The Sr–Hg bond length is 3.58 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Sr atoms.
