Tensor analyzing power of the {sup 12}C({ital d},{sup 2}He){sup 12}B reaction at 270 MeV

The tensor analyzing power of the ({ital d},{sup 2}He) reaction has been measured at 270 MeV. Its usefulness for the spectroscopic study, particularly in identifying {ital J}{sup {pi}} of the spin-flip dipole states, is demonstrated for a {sup 12}C target. The data are reasonably reproduced in terms of the DWBA theory for the three-body reaction.
