Deep inelastic scattering on the deuteron in the Bethe-Salpeter formalism with the realistic {ital NN}-interaction

A relativistic approach, based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation, to deep inelastic lepton scattering on the deuteron is presented. The structure functions of the deuteron are calculated by solving the Bethe Salpeter equation in the ladder approximation with a realistic set of mesons and by applying the operator product expansion method.
