The Naval Research Laboratory is designing and integrating a battery experiment for the Phillips Laboratory. In one phase of the experiment the battery must be discharged in a controlled fashion, simulating a GEO, LEO and final discharge cycle. This places some unique requirements on the electronics. For example, the operational voltage range of this discharger is approximately 1.7 to approximately 8.5 volts. The other requirements, circuit operation, stability and transient analysis are described in the paper.
