Among perovskite-type compounds exhibiting one or another of the types of dipole ordering, considerable attention is given to mixed niobates and tantalates, AB{sub 1/2}{sup 3+} Nb{sub 1/2}O{sub 3} and AB{sub 1/2}{sup 3+} Ta{sub 1/2}O{sub 3}, containing Ba{sup 2+} ions on the A site. Barium-containing perovskites with complex compositions and their solid solutions find wide practical application as materials for microwave resonators with high Q-factors. The search for and investigation of new Ba-containing compounds with perovskite-type structures are of interest in gaining greater insight into the features of these oxide systems.
