Extraction chromatography resins are widely used in pretreatment for such as the analysis of radionuclides and metal ions, as well as the quantification of isotopes. These resins have been developed for the purpose of improving selectivity, reducing the generation amount of waste liquid, and performing simpler and faster separation compared with other separation methods such as solvent extraction, ion exchange, and coprecipitation. This paper explains, in an easy-to-understand manner, this extraction chromatography, including extractants, diluents, solid supports, etc. (A.O.)
