EPA proposes heavy fines, tightens noose on hazwaste burners

The U.S. EPA continues to tighten the noose on hazwaste burner operators. Acting under the Boiler and Industrial Furnace (BIF) Rules of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, EPA has proposed $20 million in fines on operations of 30 hazardous waste incinerators, boilers and cement kilns.
