A simple procedure for the synthesis of binuclear molybdenum(V) complexes with carboxylate ligands is proposed. Hydrazinium [di({mu}-oxo)bis(aquodihydroxooxomolybdate(V))] of the formula (N{sub 2}H{sub 5}){sub 2}[Mo{sub 2}O{sub 4}(OH){sub 4}(H{sub 2}O){sub 2}] is used as an initial reagent in the synthesis. The synthesized complexes are studied by IR and EXAFS spectroscopic techniques, as well as by {sup 95}Mo, {sup 17}O, and {sup 14}N NMR spectroscopy. The oxidation state Mo(V) and the core fragment of the initial reagent remain the same in all the complexes.
